Had the privilege of attending the commissioning of the USS Anchorage today at the Port Of Anchorage. Myself along with about 3000 other hardy Alaskans braved the chilly weather to watch this memorable moment. We had ok seats, but as soon as the umbrellas went up, we couldn't see anything. I sat directly under a rafter that poured water on my head and I did all that I could to keep my camera dry. I took a few photos, but nothing artistic or daring like I normally would. Had our media passes been approved, I would have been all over the place. This time I just sat in the crowd like the rest of the folks, making memories.
