As most of us Alaskans are already aware, we don't have four real seasons like the lower 48 folks. No, we have Winter, Hockey, Summer and Fishing - yep that about sums it up. So now that we are full on into Hockey season, we get busy with tons of images of our best and brightest teens around - the Alaska High School Hockey. I have had the pleasure of being welcomed once again onto many of the high school teams. Almost always protected by a goalie, who is at least 6'2-6'5 in skates and full pads there to block any shots should they dare to hurl past my head....kinda like the one my own son whiffed past me today. So make sure to check out the "Sports" tab and browse thru the images.

Something new this year is the ability to search for you player by jersey number, or last name. At this time we are still trying to figure out how to search for different teams when players have the same number. JDHS Hockey works using the jersey number, coach, or team. We are working on Homer High next to see how to add them to the search field. (If all teams had name plates it would be soooo much easier - think tagging each player as you would tag friends on FaceBook....yeah... PITA!! - but cause we LOVE our players, we do it!)
